The 1st Witheridge Brownies and Guides

Guiding is an all female group that empowers girls from 4 years old. Whilst we don’t have Rainbows in the village, there are groups in Tiverton.

If you are interested in joining Guiding or have a daughter who you would like to join us please go to https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/ to register online or find out more about what Guiding can offer you.

Brownies is about trying new things that teach girls aged seven to ten about themselves, their community and their world. Brownies introduces girls to a world of opportunities, challenges and fun.  Girls can go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, develop skills and have outdoor adventures.  As well as trying new activities in our weekly meetings, girls choose from interest badges related to things they want to know more about.

Guides have an exciting and varied programme designed to inspire and challenge girls from 10 to 14. What you do in Guides is more up to you, from taking part in lots of exciting activities at regular meetings to special events and trips away.  You will choose from different badges and awards which will help you learn new skills and try new challenges.  You can do some of this on your own and others you’ll do in groups in our regular meetings.  Guides builds on and develops the skills you learn at Brownies.

Volunteering

Being a volunteer and becoming a Leader in Guiding opens up all sorts for opportunities for you. Be an inspiration for girls and young women. Help girls to realise their full potential and share some unforgettable moments along the way

Three simple steps to becoming a volunteer

  1. Register your interest – fill out our form and give your details. We need to know where you are based and how we can contact you. Go to https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/
  2. We’ll be in touch – someone from the Girlguiding team in your area will contact you for a chat, usually within seven days.
  3. Tell us what you want to do – during this chat let us know about your skills and how much time you have to spare. This will help us to find the right volunteer role for you and start our recruitment check process.

We look forward to hearing from you and you or your daughter joining us.
